Porcelain inlays and onlays

These are fillings made outside of the mouth by a specially trained technician using reinforced porcelain. The technique saves more natural tooth structure where once a crown was the only option. The ability to bond the filling to the tooth can actually strengthen the tooth rather than weaken it as was the case with the old silver mercury fillings. The ability to now bond to the tooth makes the restoration outstanding and since no metal is used, it offers the best natural appearance.

Contouring and bonding

Cosmetic bonding is a procedure in which a tooth coloured material is applied layer by artistic layer to the surface of the tooth. Bonding covers discolouration, repairs chips, breaks and cracks and closes gaps between teeth. A composite resin filling may be used when only a small amount of tooth structure needs replacement. Composite bonding is one of the most conservative, versatile ways to aesthetically restore a multitude of cosmetic problems.

Contouring is the artistic adjustment of tooth structure without the need of filling material to adjust or correct the line angles of a tooth. This works well for minor chips or reshaping pointy teeth. It is also highly conservative and versatile.

Gum tissue redesign

Changing a gummy smile can change your outlook. Your gum tissue can make your teeth look short and can cover more of your teeth than is necessary to protect it. Gum tissue aesthetic therapy can correct these smile concerns.

If your gummy smile is due to a high lip line which occurs in 14% of women and 7% of men, we can either use botox to suppress the lip elevator muscles or we can surgically lower the lip down which is a procedure carried out by our facial plastic surgeon.
